About Us

The idea for “GearByPoseidon” came about when a friend made a comment in jest one day.  He noticed that so many people came to me and another friend about how to get started in scuba diving and what scuba gear to buy and told us that we “should write a blog about it.”  So that is what we did.  We figured that there might be a lot of people looking for the same type of information and were confused about what to do next.

 

Well, if you are one of those that is wondering what scuba diving equipment is best for you and what the various products on the market have to offer, then I believe you will find our blog extremely helpful.

 

It is true that the human tendency is to go for the most recommended product from people they know.  This is a good place to start, but it is difficult to get an unbiased and truly comprehensive point of view this way.  The internet can seem so in-personable and can make things even more confusing.  Trust me, researching for a product online can be a real pain.

 

So I wanted to come up with a great way to share my time and experience with the diving community.

 

Ever since that little joke from my friend, I have looked at all the scuba gear on the market, starting by looking for the best fins.  I am really particular about how my scuba fins fit, so it was a great place to start.  After spending hours and hours researching, some of the things I found were great, some were OK, and as usual some aren’t worth mentioning it at all.  I put it all together for you to read through right here on my blog.
